Eyelid Surgery

 

Aging affects the skin and muscles around the eyes in the same manner that it changes the rest of the face. However, because eyelid skin is the thinnest and most susceptible to stretching, the results are often more pronounced. Baggy or puffy areas beneath the eye, caused by skin laxity and prominent fatty deposits, produce a tired and aged look. Thinned, weakened muscles may cause drooping upper eyelids and inward- or outward-turning of the lower eyelids. Sun exposure can also result in drooping skin and wrinkles. Sometimes the effects are severe enough to interfere with vision. Eyelid plastic surgery can safely remove excess skin and fat, and repair muscle weakness, improving vision and appearance.
